The location of small shops in the city has been converting in the recent years in a paramount issue, not only for its entrepreneurship dimension due to the natural attractiveness factor of the streets inside the complete urban grid but also to the social responsibility which the private companies should assume against the civil society. However, to the best of our knowledge, no study has considered so far to analyze the capacity to cover both objectives together.
Still, one question keeps pending for entrepreneurs: where should I open a new business? The question becomes moreover more interesting if we add as a second objective in the location choice for the future shops, the achievement of social objectives. The objective of this study is to develop a heuristic using Complex Network Analysis algorithms capable to determine and prioritize a list of the current closed premises as per their opportunity to cover and maximize business and social objectives at the same time.
